IM Hawaii: Day 7

Below are a couple more pictures from today's bike check in. I will post more of today's pictures and video post race. For now I am off to bed, wake up call is at 3:30am and some Kona Coffee in the coffee maker.
I'd like to thank everybody for all your support and words of encouragement. It has been amazing and truly uplifting. Thank you. More detailed thanks are deserved! These will come post race as well. Good night, Aloha.
ps-David, Phil says, whats up with the P2 seat post clamp?
The last day. I slept in until 8am, which is the latest my body has allowed me to sleep since arriving in Hawaii. Rode down to the Cervelo tent and got some air in the tires, then made my way up to the pool for one last swim workout. Again, I kept it short, 10minutes total, with a couple 100s and 50s. I was feeling great until this guy (below) showed up in my lane. He and his other European order of athletes brought along a video crew and a huge entourage. Just to get a feel for how fast he was going I started one of my 100s along side him as he did his set of 100s. As I got to the wall, for my non flip turn, I looked ahead and he had already hit his 50yard turn. After the swim, I went out onto the Queen K for one last bike check, made sure everything was operating smoothly. 10 minutes out, 10 minutes back followed by a quick 10 minute run. Elizabeth Fedofsky (of Lisle, or somewhere near Endure It) gave a shout out as she was finishing up her ride.
"Look at the butt on that."
"Yeah, he must workout"
SWEET jorts!
Peter Reid (3x IM world champion 1998, 2000, 2003, 3x IM runner 1999, 2002, 2004 up at the Zipp tent. He's not racing, but was on hand to promote Specialized

Matty Reed (US national champion at Olympic distance, and 2008 Olympian).

Non-aero bike numbers. wtf mate?

Some of today's lunch. Steel cut oats with banana and almont butter. I usually will eat a nice big lunch, and keep it a light dinner to top it off the day before a race.

Bike at pool again

Danny,

Congratulations!

We saw you cross the line live on-line:>)

I loved reading the blog, you have a monty python-esque sense of humor, very funny!

Looking forward to picking you up at the airport and hearing more!

We wish we could have been there to help cheer you on, but we were glad we were able to help cheer you on from home! Technology what a wonderful thing! We even were able to let your Mom and ReRe know that you were probably 10-15 minutes from finishing based on the online reports!!

(Paranormal exterminator/ Scientist?) Who you gonna call?

Love you!
